Interlibrary loan system

Any cooperative arrangement between two or more libraries whereby members of one library may automatically borrow publications from other libraries in the cooperating group. Interlibrary loan systems exist locally, regionally and statewide and may function between any number of institutions of common interest, such as universities and museums.
