Nonverbal communications - American Education

Those bodily movements, facial expressions, gestures, postures, personal contacts, tones of voice, articles of clothing and aspects of personal grooming that send others a message requiring no words. Especially important to teachers, nonverbal communication may be used by itself—a frown at an unruly student—or in conjunction with words to add emphasis or an interpretive nuance that words alone would not convey.
